In July 1998, Chris’s dream took flight on Pump FM 99.3 – Australia’s first Hip Hop & RnB community radio station – co-hosting with Mista-C. The station’s evolution into Dance FM 94.5 sparked a wave of genre fusion, and Chris was at the forefront, curating soundscapes every Monday and Tuesday night.
Later that year, he joined DJ-FM 87.6FM Sydney CBD and Inner City, a 24/7 Dance Radio Station by Roberts Media Group. Between October 1999 and January 2001, Chris hosted weekday breakfast shows on Groove FM 96.9FM (Sydney), Groove FM 94.5FM (Sydney), and Groove FM 97.3FM (Brisbane). In collaboration with Darren Leigh, Mike Scott, and Fabrizio Vilardo, he also played a key role in programming the stations. From 1999 to 2006, Chris energized Sydney’s Inner West with Tuesday ShakeDown, Tuesday Overdrive, and Saturday ShakeDown on 2RDJ 88.1FM, championing Hip Hop, RnB, and Dance. He collaborated with artists like DJ Fly Girl Tee, MC Maurice, DJ Ales K (Klubbed Up), and Ms Hennessey.
